Alex is a Whistler-based Physiotherapist specializing in sports physiotherapy, ski injury rehabilitation, and high-performance athlete care. With over two decades of experience in elite sport, he works with competitive athletes and active individuals seeking expert assessment, evidence-based treatment, and performance-driven rehabilitation.
A lifelong sport enthusiast, Alex’s career began in alpine skiing as a High Performance Ski Coach (CSCF/ACA), which brought him to Whistler in 1999. His coaching background provides a deep understanding of biomechanics, movement efficiency, and the physical demands of competitive skiing. He later transitioned into physiotherapy and has served as a Team Physiotherapist for Alpine Canada and Freestyle Canada, while working in private practice since 2009.
Alex’s experience in elite sport has led to his involvement at FIS World Cups, Olympic venues, X-Games, Dew Tour events, and Canadian National Team training camps. He has extensive expertise in treating ski and snowboard injuries, knee and shoulder injuries, lower limb biomechanics, and complex sport-related conditions.
As a manual therapist grounded in the science of human movement, Alex integrates detailed movement analysis, individualized exercise prescription, joint mobilizations and manipulation, anatomical acupuncture, and intramuscular stimulation (IMS). His clinical approach focuses on identifying mechanical inefficiencies and restoring optimal movement patterns to support long-term performance and injury prevention.
His academic interests include biomechanics research related to skiing performance — specifically the forces acting on the skier, postural sway, lower extremity muscle activation (EMG), and foot and ankle mechanics within the ski boot.
Outside the clinic, Alex can be found skiing, biking, and exploring the mountains around Whistler year-round.

Pat McKinnon is an orthopaedic physiotherapist who has been practicing throughout the Sea to Sky Corridor since 2008.
Hailing from the majestic foothills of Calgary, Alberta, Pat graduated with distinction with a Bachelor of Kinesiology degree from the University of Calgary in 2000. After spending the next few years immersing himself in the idyllic mountain culture of the Canadian Rockies, Pat decided to put all of his hard learned education to good use, so he moved to the west coast to complete his Masters of Physical Therapy degree at the University of British Columbia. Upon graduation in 2007, Pat promptly traded his boutique urban Kitsilano existence for the recreational paradise of the Sea to Sky Corridor, where he’s been practicing and living the dream ever since. He never intended for it to be a permanent move, but you know how that story goes…
A devoted practitioner, Pat greatly values working collaboratively with his clients, taking the time to assess and treat their specific injury needs in a private, one-on-one clinical setting. He uses a variety of hands-on manual therapy techniques, in conjunction with individualized exercise prescription and focused re-training of dysfunctional movement patterns, in order to assist each client with achieving their personal rehabilitation goals.
When he’s not in the clinic, Pat is a borderline obsessive freeride snowboarding enthusiast, both on the resort and in the backcountry. He also enjoys pedaling trails, climbing mountains, surfing waves, eating tacos, and not-so-secretly rocking out to sweet ‘80s hair metal jams.

Katie is a registered physiotherapist who moved to British Columbia in 2018 to follow her passion for downhill mountain biking. Originally from Bristol, UK, she holds a Bachelor of Science in Physiotherapy from the University of Gloucestershire. Her interest in physiotherapy was sparked by a lifelong love of cycling and sport.
In the UK, Katie gained clinical experience treating musculoskeletal injuries within the National Health Service (NHS), as well as supporting road cycling events. This foundation built her expertise in injury management and rehabilitation for active individuals.
Katie is currently completing her APPI Matwork Pilates Certification—a physiotherapy-led approach to Pilates that modifies traditional movements to support those experiencing pain or recovering from injury. She has also completed additional training in kinesiology taping and shockwave therapy, further strengthening her toolkit for soft tissue and tendon rehabilitation.
Her clinical focus includes exercise-based rehabilitation, injury prevention, and manual therapy techniques tailored to each client’s goals. Whether you’re returning to work, recovering from sports injuries, or managing chronic conditions, Katie brings a practical and supportive approach to helping clients regain function and stay active.
Looking ahead, Katie plans to pursue further training in dry needling and acupuncture to deepen her knowledge of trigger point therapy and soft tissue treatment. Please note: she does not use spinal manipulative therapy in her practice.
When she’s not in the clinic, you’ll find Katie out on the trails or in the bike park—rain, shine, or snow—living the lifestyle she loves to help others return to.
